The team at X-Golf Macarthur did their bit to break records in the name of local youth, with the Youth Solutions’ 2024 Charity Golf Day taking place last October.
An epic day where local businesses from all walks worked together in the name of a good cause, 90 golfers swung for success at Campbelltown Golf Club to raise over $13,000 for youth health and prevention programs in Macarthur and Wingecarribee regions.
Proceeds of the day go towards funding Youth Solutions’ Young Drug and Alcohol Wellbeing Programmes, which provide essential support for young people at risk.
X-Golf Macarthur’s Kelly Campbell said the venue has nurtured an ongoing relationship with Youth Solutions and that the team was excited to get involved for yet another year.
“Youth Solutions reached out early last year asking for support and knowing about the work they do with local young people, we were keen to be involved,” she said.
“We also held our own Family Fun Day at X-Golf and Hey Caddy here in Macarthur to raise extra funds and increase awareness.”
The success of the charity golf day was a testament to the power of the local community coming together for a cause that truly matters. Youth Solutions’ Young Drug and Alcohol Wellbeing Programmes helps young people to make better choices and develop healthy, positive habits to avoid the risks of substance misuse.
“The money raised will go towards programs that support young people in our community who are at risk of addiction or other harmful behaviours,” Kelly said.
“By providing early intervention, these programs give kids the support and tools they need to create a better future for themselves.”
For Kelly and the team at X-Golf MacArthur, supporting Youth Solutions is about much more than just raising money. It’s about tackling the bigger issues facing youth today, such as mental health, unemployment, homelessness and their involvement in the justice system.
“These issues are all interlinked and I really believe that intervention is key to creating long-term, positive change,” Kelly said.
“If we all come together to support early intervention, we can do our bit to try and ensure more positive outcomes for our children.”
Beyond the charity golf day, the team at X-Golf Macarthur is passionate about fostering a collaborative environment with other local businesses to strengthen the community.
Kelly credits the tight-knit network of local businesses, schools, sporting clubs and community members for creating a supportive environment where everyone works towards the same goal: building a resilient and thriving community.
“We work with other local businesses that share our values and our ‘why.’ We’re all about helping out where we can. It’s a real community effort,” Kelly said.
As X-Golf Macarthur continues to build on its community involvement, it’s clear that Kelly and the team are dedicated to making a positive impact and they’re excited to continue contributing to the local community in meaningful ways.
“X-Golf is all about fostering a welcoming, friendly environment where absolutely anyone is welcome,” Kelly said.
“We’re thrilled to extend that beyond the green as well.”
