X-Golf Group is delighted to announce that X-Golf Palmerston has claimed the most prestigious honour in Australian indoor golf, officially awarded the Most Outstanding Club, Facility or Place to Play (Off-course) in Golf Australia’s inaugural National Awards of Excellence.
This recognition places X-Golf’s Top End team on the map as a national success story, but also as leaders in redefining what golf can be for anyone who’s ever considered having a hit.
Presented by Golf Australia, the award celebrates clubs that set new benchmarks for innovation, participation, growth and leadership in the game, and Palmerston’s win confirms its reputation as a modern-day golfing space that is rewriting the rules of an age-old sport.
The accolade comes at a defining time for golf, with participation surging across Australia. Ausplay data indicates that adult golf participation currently sits over 1.3 million.

Golf Australia showcases X-Golf Palmerston as a glimpse into the future of the game, with ultra-realistic simulators, social-first programs and an inclusive culture drawing increasing numbers into golf, regardless of age, gender or experience level.
At the heart of this success is a sports entertainment fusion with community at the fore – while X-Golf Palmerston players can take on some of the world’s most famous courses, rain, hail or shine, the venue’s true impact comes from how it breaks down typical barriers to entry.
Dedicated programs like “Sip & Chip” for women attract around 20 participants each month, with their Junior TeeMates competitions offering kids a safe space to play all year-round. And the milestones don’t stop there – X-Golf Palmerston is the second signatory of the R&A Women in Golf Charter, driving significant cultural change in the game, and the team has facilitated a dedicated wet-season series to ensure golf is always available, welcoming and lots of fun.
For those looking for something more casual, Hey Caddy mini golf is located under the same roof as our world-renowned simulators, with 18 destination-themed holes offering a memorable experience where guests of all ages can focus on their short game. Groups are also catered to, with a full bar and kitchen and private facilities for functions, and there’s plenty of room for exciting competitions with X-League’s team tournament and Your Tour for solo players.
The result is a golf experience that is as diverse as the community it serves.

Behind the scenes, the Palmerston team operates with both professionalism and heart, and X-Golf Group is extremely proud of what they’ve achieved. Palmerston has proven that golf can thrive in any setting and that its future lies in flexibility and fun.
Golf Australia CEO James Sutherland described the National Awards of Excellence as a “glimpse into the future of our sport.”
“Each winner shows how golf can evolve, diversify and thrive while staying rooted in community,” Mr Sutherland said.
“Together, they form a blueprint for how golf is growing stronger, more inclusive and more relevant.”
With this honour, X-Golf Palmerston has firmly positioned itself at the forefront of that future, pioneering a new way to play, grow and love the game of golf in the Top End.
