X-GOLF MACKAY NAMED AMONG QUEENSLAND’S BEST OFF-COURSE GOLFING HUBS

X-Golf Mackay is celebrating another major milestone after being named a finalist in the 2026 Queensland Golf Industry Awards.

After only 18 months operating, our vibrant Mackay venue is in the running for Most Outstanding Off-Course Club, Facility or Place to Play, recognising its contribution to making golf more accessible, social and relevant to the local community.

For owners Mary and Roy Rowe, the formal recognition is a proud moment following an exceptional year for the venue.

“It’s incredibly exciting to see X-Golf Mackay recognised alongside some of the best venues in Queensland,” Mary said.

“We’ve worked hard to create a place where people can come in, have fun and enjoy the game, whether they’re experienced players or picking up a club for the first time.”

“It’s a testament to the outstanding team we have here on the ground, and to have our efforts recognised by the industry is a really proud moment for all of us.”

Over the past year, X-Golf Mackay has enjoyed strong growth in participation, welcoming thousands of guests including juniors, families, social players and experienced golfers. Its performance has also placed it among the leading venues in the X-Golf network, highlighting the strength of its local offering and the growing appeal of off-course golf experiences.

The finalist position adds to an impressive run of recognition for X-Golf venues and the wider group over the past 18 months.

In 2025, X-Golf Palmerston was named Australia’s Most Outstanding Off-Course Facility at Golf Australia’s National Awards of Excellence, while X-Golf South Bank was named Queensland’s Most Outstanding Off-Course Facility at the Queensland Golf Industry Awards. X-Golf Geelong was also recognised for customer service at the Australian Achiever Awards, while X-Golf North Clyde took out the same award this year. X-Golf Penrith and other venues secured finalist positions across golf and business awards programs.

X-Golf Group was also named Franchisor of the Year in the 26–50 Units category at the Franchise Council of Australia’s National Franchise Awards last June.

For Mary, the growing list of accolades is recognition of something bigger than individual venues.

“We’re really proud to be part of a brand that is changing the way people think about golf,” she said.

“These awards show that what we’re doing at X-Golf is not just about technology or entertainment. It’s about making golf more welcoming, social and accessible – and giving more people a reason to give it a go.”

With more than 300,000 players now registered across the X-Golf network, the brand continues to grow its position as a modern, technology-led golf and entertainment experience.

The latest recognition for X-Golf Mackay is another strong endorsement of the role off-course venues can play in growing participation and bringing new audiences into the game.

The winners of the 2026 Queensland Golf Industry Awards will be announced at Queensland Golf’s Night of Nights at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 8 October 8.

Best of luck, X-Golf Mackay!
