Play this school holidays at your local X-Golf venue
Tee up for Golf Australia’s TeeMates Challenge, a free junior golf tournament for kids aged 5–16 at X-Golf. Running during the school holidays, young players can take on a fun 9-hole indoor golf challenge using X-Golf simulators, test their swing, compete for prizes and see how they rank on the national leaderboard.
No experience is needed, so whether they’re new to golf or already love the game, kids can jump in, enjoy some friendly competition and play alongside friends at their own pace!


Players take on a 9-hole junior golf tournament on East Lakes Golf Club – Back 9 using X-Golf simulators. Tournament entry is free, with a minimum 60-minute simulator booking required per player.
Choose your X-Golf venue and book at least 60 minutes of simulator time for each player.
Kids aged 10–16 play from the red tees, while players under 10 tee off from the yellow tees.
Players can have more than one attempt during the event, giving them another shot at improving their score.
Free tournament entry applies. Simulator hire is still required.

There’s plenty to play for in the TeeMates Challenge, with a $1,500 total prize pool plus prizes supplied by Golf Australia and X-Golf.








The TeeMates Challenge is open to kids aged 5–16, from complete beginners to junior golfers who already love the game. It’s a fun way to try a junior golf competition, test a few skills and enjoy some friendly competition at X-Golf.
Absolutely. Kids don’t need tournament experience to join in. The TeeMates Challenge is designed for beginner and experienced junior golfers, with age-based tees helping make the 9-hole competition fun, fair and easy to enjoy.
Junior players take on 9 holes on East Lakes Golf Club – Back 9 using an X-Golf simulator. Players aged 10–16 play from the red tees, while under 10s use the yellow tees. Scores are recorded so kids can see how they stack up on the TeeMates leaderboard.
Tournament entry is free, so kids can jump into the TeeMates Challenge without an entry fee. A minimum 60-minute X-Golf simulator booking per player is still required to complete the round, so it’s worth booking ahead with your local venue.
No handicap is needed just to join the fun. A verified handicap is only required for players competing in the handicap or nett category. Kids without one can still take part in the junior golf tournament and compete in the applicable stroke competition.
The TeeMates Challenge runs from 15 September to 18 October 2026, covering the school holiday period across Australia. Kids can play their tournament round at X-Golf during the event window and see where they land on the national leaderboard.
Yes. There’s no maximum number of rounds, so junior players can come back for another go during the tournament. It’s a great chance to improve their score, get more time on the X-Golf simulator and try to climb the TeeMates leaderboard.
Choose your X-Golf venue and book the required simulator time during the TeeMates tournament period. If your child doesn’t already have an X-Golf ID, the venue team can help get them set up so their score can be recorded.
