X-GOLF’S 14TH ANNUAL X-LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP COMES TO A HEAD IN BRISBANE THIS AUGUST

More than 1,700 players have battled it out across Australia and New Zealand in X-League’s 14th year, but only nine teams remain in the running for X-Golf’s biggest prize which will play out in Brisbane this August.

The 2026 X-League Championship will bring the Southern Hemisphere’s largest indoor golf competition to X-Golf South Bank on Saturday, 8 August, as finalists from across Australia and New Zealand compete for the title.

The Championship marks the culmination of months of competition across X-Golf’s 35 venues, with teams made up of everyday golfers from all walks of life. This year’s finalists include school teachers, tradies, business owners and even the manager of a crocodile farm, highlighting the broad appeal of team-based indoor golf.

Among the finalists are cousins Brad and Jack Gibbins, alongside Alec Sinclair Roberts from Launceston, who qualified after what started as regular family golf nights at their local X-Golf venue.

“Most families catch up over dinner. Ours somehow ended up qualifying for an international golf Championship,” Brad said.

“We didn’t expect to make it this far, but we’re excited, we’re competitive and we can’t wait to represent Tassie on the main stage.”

Brad and his family team members are already making headlines as they shape up to represent Tasmania against the rest of Australia and New Zealand. You can catch their appearance on 7 News here and WIN News here.

Founded in 2012 by brothers Ben and Charles Styles, X-League began with just 30 competitors. Today, it spans 35 X-Golf venues across Australia and New Zealand and has grown into the Southern Hemisphere’s largest indoor golf competition, attracting more than 1,700 players each season.

X-Golf Group X-League Coordinator Nick Treble said the Championship reflected how the game continues to evolve and why more golfers are embracing technology-enabled competition.

“When we launched X-League, the goal was simple – create a competition where anyone could experience the excitement of representing their venue, regardless of their handicap or golfing background,” Nick said.

“More than a decade later, we’ve built the largest indoor golf competition across Australia and New Zealand. Seeing more and more players compete each year shows just how much the game is evolving and how technology is opening golf up to more people than ever before.”

Powered by X-Golf Group’s proprietary simulator technology, the Championship combines high-speed cameras, lasers and infrared impact sensors to deliver an immersive and highly accurate playing experience, allowing players to compete year-round regardless of weather or daylight.

As X-Golf Group continues to expand, X-League has become much more than an annual competition. It’s a showcase of the company’s commitment to making golf more accessible, more social and more engaging through innovation, while creating meaningful connections through team-based competition.

“The Championship isn’t just about crowning a winner,” Nick said.

“It’s about celebrating the incredible community that exists across our venues and giving everyday golfers the opportunity to compete on a national stage. That’s something we’re incredibly proud of and we love watching it unfold each and every year.”

The continued growth of X-League further cements X-Golf Group’s position as a leader in modern golf. By combining world-class simulator technology with community-driven competition, the business has created a new pathway into the game for thousands of players who may not otherwise have participated.

Teams from as far as Perth, Christchurch and Darwin will compete for more than $20,000 in prizes, including a golf trip to Barnbougle Dunes Golf Links in Tasmania, when the 2026 X-League Championship tees off at X-Golf South Bank on 7 and 8 August.
